Every coffee roast by Charles & Faust stands as a heartfelt tribute to a vital yet often overlooked segment of the American workforce. Not only that, but our collective and personal stories are deeply interwoven into our products and brand, creating a rich tapestry that connects our mission with every sip. While there are many coffee companies out there, few have heart, and none have our story.

Spring of 2025 saw the launch of our inaugural roast, the Southside Select. A roast honoring the American service worker. While we currently only provide this one offering, success will help us expand into our other planned roasts. Our customers have a massive impact on what we do next. We'd be honored to have you along for this journey.

The Southside Select roast is a warm tribute to those who work tirelessly in the American service industry. These individuals often perform their duties without receiving the gratitude they deserve, yet their contributions are essential to our daily lives. While some of these positions are rarely honored, we believe it’s time to shine a light on these unsung heroes (and their families). We offer this roast as a small token of our appreciation and encourage others to recognize and value the immense contributions these individuals make to keeping our society running smoothly each and every day.

The Charles & Faust Southside Select roast proudly continues the legacy of a pivotal piece of Mid-Atlantic American coffee culture. In the midst of the 1990s New Jersey diner scene, the Southside Diner opened its doors near the shore in Toms River, NJ. This bustling little spot served its loyal patrons until the start of the millennium. The food was exceptional, but the legendary coffee experience was unmatched. While the owner of the Southside Diner left business ownership over twenty years ago, his son RJ Charles now confidently carries forward the family story that had long since been relegated to memory.
